Last week was my week off, I travelled back to Norwich the very end of June for a friend’s wedding, my birthday and my grandad’s birthday.
It was very much needed after the last few months, nothing too horrendous but things big enough to create a bit of added stress. A few of you know what I am talking about.
Anyway my week back started ASAP on the last Friday of June for my friend’s wedding at the magnificent Holkham Hall, a beautiful place on the North Norfolk coast (it was also used in the film The Duchess) it was a beautiful day, and I was so glad to catch up with friends I hadn’t seen since Christmas. I was very bad at the hoops though.
I somehow managed to be one of the last ones there having been one of the first to arrive, but that’s just how I roll.
The next few days were total chilled ones, sitting in the sun eating icecream, with a friend…
The Monday was my birthday! The grand old age of 34! It was a chilled one which is what I wanted and I had two birthday cakes because why wouldn’t you? My nan’s home made Victoria sponge cake, with her homemade jam and of course, Colin the caterpillar!
During the week we walked round Pensthorpe nature reserve which was lovely, so much green and fresh air, and the quiet was absolute heaven for me.
The whole week went super quickly and unfortunately my train was on the same day as my grandad’s birthday, so we popped in on the way to the station and luckily my great aunt and uncle were also there, I used to visit their farm a lot when I was younger, but the pigs are gone and bee hives are now in place so proper Norfolk honey is always to hand!
The next time I will be back for any length of time will be Christmas, shudder!
